Day One Hundred Eighty Four: It Tells Everything

Facebook Thread

Char: Tansi. Tansi Kiya? Namoya nanitaw. Pihtikwe. Api. Maskihkiwapoy minihkwe. Tapwe Miywasin e-pekiyokawiyan. Tanite e-ki-itohteyan. Mahti acimo kikway e-osihtayan. Mahti acimostawin. We are learning Cree..I'm the teacher! o_O

Sheena: What did you say? What did you say?

Char: Hello. How are you? I am fine. Come on in. Sit down. Have some tea. Its nice of you to come visit me. Where did you go? Tell me a story. What are you making. Please tell me a story.

Sheena: Can I quote you with my "asom-toon"? Maybe my name is Asomtoon...

Char: Lol. Yes. Your name is awesome tune. ♥

Note: Char told me last fall that "asom-toon" is "pen" in Cree, and it means "it tells everything." I wrote it on a yellow sticky note and posted it by my desk at school. I am both haunted and empowered by the word asom-toon; trust Char to reframe my angst into fun and love.
