Day One Hundred Seventy One: We Will Breathe

I can't figure out how to post the video that Lesley Farley and I made last year. We had wanted to have an example to show our students for our Treaty 4 Digital Art Project: Connecting Physical Spaces with Personal Perspectives 2010-2011. Here's a play-by-play of our 56 second film.

Breathe
     title growing larger against black screen
     muffled explosion leads into
     electronic music one note at a time
     my voice will be next
And as we bring our dreams together
     thunder rolling
     "The spirit of the buffalo is something we really depend on,"
     says Standing Buffallo elder Velma Goodfeather.
and as we speak of our fears together
     "Look ahead, look ahead and don't say you can't do it, just say, 'I'll do it,'"

and as we fall in love
    linger
and as we teach
     "This was the sight of the very first Hudson Bay retail store,
     anywhere in the world, right where we're sitting,"

     kids chatter, climbing a hill
and as we learn
     "Usually I'm involved with the students who have completed their grade twelve,"
     says a woman I don't recognize.
