Students Walk Hallways to Raise Awareness of Indigenous Peoples at Risk of Extinction in Columbia

Twenty-nine signatures
for
Amnesty International Petition
to Government of Canada
to
Protect Indigenous Peoples at risk
of extinction in Columbia

On April 19th, my students and I had a lunch meeting with representatives of Regina's Amnesty International. Gord Barnes, Halena Seiferling and Tracy Wright travelled from Regina and  shared Amnesty International's history and purpose. They left the posters regarding the Columbia campaign, so today, we walked -- Katara Ironquill leading us with music -- and twenty-nine people signed the petition. The kids are already talking about writing letters and maybe walking through downtown next week.
